Age 25, recently quit his job that he had at an architecture firm to go play baseball in Prague, Czech Republic. It’s a 6-month contract, and maybe not the most adult like move giving up a good job like that without knowing where you’ll be when you get back. But then at the same time, you can’t be 25 and play baseball for the rest of your life, so why not do it now. Who am I to talk; I’m in the Peace Corps for gosh sakes. Nah… actually I encouraged it on him. Ha, another PC volunteer friend of mine asked me if he was married, owned a house or had a family…and I said, ‘no’; and she said well he’s doing the US a disservice by continuing to hold a job like that, when some family who’s struggling could use that money instead. – Either way – he decided to go for it.
Anyhow, I got off the phone with him not too long ago, and he was explaining to me that he just had gotten his city transport pass. I guess it allows him to hop on any city bus, or train/subway to get to any part of the city that he wants to go. I mentioned to him, “wow. your world is so very completely different from mine.”
