The day before yesterday, I was walking by a classroom in which Will’s co-teacher was covering for a grade 12 class (who’s original teacher got outta dodge a month or so ago because he got a better job),… and I happened to eavesdrop on what they were practicing.
Let me back track. The other day when I was in the market, I stopped by this teacher’s stall to say hello. He was preparing for some of the upcoming lessons for grade 12, and I helped him through some of the lessons. I also spent a decent amount of time correcting him on his pronunciation of words containing the letters “f” and “s”. The guy is definitely improving on his pronunciation and sentence structure since when we first got here which is encouraging; but he’s got a ways to go.
Okay. Back to the day before yesterday. Anyway as you can only imagine, I was extremely excited when I walked by his classroom and he had the entire group repeating after him, the proper way to say the letters “f” and “s”. And they were doing it perfectly. I walked by a bit slowly and listened and then I smiled and felt all happy inside.
It was one of those ‘my work here is done’ moments.
Well, I don’t know if I can go as far as to say that; but nonetheless it made my morning and I went on about the day.
