English Lessons.

Gotta love it when the Cambodian English teacher, is teaching the American Volunteer English teacher a few tips on grammar. I know, I know. Sad, but true. --- Go ahead. You try it. Try and explain to the class a formula for when to use the word ‘some’ and when to use ‘any’ and which one is affirmative or negative and which one is a countable or uncountable noun, or pronoun and why you can say “Would you like some fruit?” or “Would you like any fruit?”, and why saying “Will you get any berries from the bush” vs. “Will you get some berries from the bush” makes more sense.

I know. Run-on- sentence.

In the Khmer language, the word they use for both ‘some’ and ‘any’ is “klas”. Seems much simpler, if you ask me.

p.s. I’ll gladly take a clear explanation that I can pass onto my students from anyone that would like to provide one.
