the frogs

All creatures great and small eh?

One other small amphibian I haven’t written about yet are all the Frogs that are prevalent in this new town. They all come out at night and there are tons of them! They are all different sizes, and there are at least 7 or 8 of them every night in the front patio area of the house; and there is always one fairly decent sized frog and then another small frog with an interesting orange colored design waiting for me right outside the door of the bathroom at night right before my last shower of the day.

They kinda just sit there. I’ve tried to stomp to scare them- but they just sit still and don’t move at all. I guess if they don’t bother me, I won’t bother them.
Also earlier today while I was brushing my teeth I sawr a really long centipede. It was about the diameter of my thumb and maybe about 9 inches long? It too didn’t do anything to hurt me, so I didn’t do anything to it. I just watched it slowly but gracefully crawl over the rocks and find its way through the tropical earth.

Tonight in the bathroom I sawr a new small creature. It was maybe an inch and a half long; with a body that was a quarter of an inch wide and then a longer skinny tail. It was white-ish clear and it was inching itself along the floor. I watched it for a bit and then I decided to bathe, and then threw a bucket of water on it so it went on out the door. It was a little scared after that… as its tail curled up and it stopped moving. Then I went on with my evening.
I’ve never seen one of those things before.

Hey tessa- good to hear from you! Yes-we're enjoying every bit!(Even the ants... i'll post about them soon). I've always wanted to have a little adventure before I settle down and have kids and a house and 'responsibilities'. ha. -so that's exactly what we're doing!! - But we are also LEARNING a lot about ourselves, this beautiful culture - and how to work with each other under stressful situations. ha. i think it's good for the marriage!

Anyways...- I heard that the blog went public; via pk's midweek update. I admit I'm a little nervous that it has gone public; as I am by no means a writer. Oh well. - I'll try and keep the stories coming! All the best to you back home...
